Wellington, Aug 15 (ANI): A company in New Zealand has created a device that promises to increase the speed of broadband Internet by 50 times.
Manufacture by Remote Management Systems, the system looks like a modem, and connects with homes’ existing wiring to boost broadband speeds without having to pay the more than 800 dollar fee for re-wiring a home with fibre-optic cables to get such fast internet.

SAN FRANCISCO: Apple has said that it was “stunned” that its iPhone 4 used erroneous formulas to calculate signal strength, and promised to issue a free software patch to resolve the issue that has already triggered lawsuits.
In a letter directed to users of the latest iPhone model, the company said the signal drop was likely exaggerated because its formula was “completely wrong,” displaying four or five bars in areas with a very weak signal.

New York Times standards editor, Phil Corbett sent out a memo banning the use of the word “outside of ornithological contexts,” reported the Awl.
“Some social-media fans may disagree, but outside of ornithological contexts, ‘tweet’ has not yet achieved the status of Standard English”, wrote Corbett in the memo.

TAIPEI: British chip designer ARM Holdings said its technology is ready for “Google TVs” and could be in the Internet-based devices next year if its partners can come out with products based on its designs.
