Beautiful Eyelashes Just A Drug Away
Longer and thicker eyelashes can be yours now with a new drug called Latisse. Soon Mascara is to be replaced with this drug which could aid you being the owner of a beautiful pair of windows of your heart.
US pharmaceutical firm Allergan, has come up with this drug which also markets Botox, the popular treatment for wrinkles according to the Sun. The formula for Latisse contains Lumigan, the drug used to treat Glaucoma when scientists observed that the anti blindness resort boosted the growth of dark lashes. Latisse facilitates a quarter longer in length and and twice as thick according to trials conducted on the eyelashes. When applied every night to the base of the hair, the drug made the lashes 18 percent darker.
Latisse that boosts your eyelashes as if by magic is to hit the US market later this month for about 80 pounds for a long course of a month’s treatment and is to launched in the UK soon after, mainly through cosmetic doctors.
Cindy Ross, who took part in clinical trials, said: “People would say, ‘Are you wearing false eyelashes?’”
Some doctors however warned that the usage of the drug could result in undesired side effects like change in the eye colour. The side effects could also be temporary redness in eyes, itching and darker eyelids. However Allergen stated that 65 million bottles of Lumigan have been sold out with no serious complaints of injury.
Glaucoma patients who use this drug are reported to often have permanently darker eyes after six months of treatment.
